Meetings with representatives of companies and employers' associations
In the last week of May, three days of information meetings were held in Mogadishu during which representatives of companies and employers' associations, experts and FESTU shared and explored the possible advantages and socio-economic effects in the short and long term of the formalization of the Work.
Various hypotheses and scenarios were analysed. From the activation of training internships to targeted professional training aimed in particular at young people and vulnerable people. During the meetings, some "virtuous" and possible business models were also explored. Inclusive models that also pay attention to health and safety in the workplace, the denunciation of gender discrimination, pay inequality and a possible social protection system.
A path still under construction that must see and go beyond the current perception of the formalization of work only as a bureaucratic complication and/or a source of taxation.
