The photography competition closed on September 30th Decent and Inclusive Work (LINK), promoted by Nexus Emilia Romagna and the partners of the INFORMA.L AID 012590/03/0 project (LINK).
The initiative aims to raise awareness and stimulate reflection on what it means to have a decent job and what it means not to have one, inviting participants to condense and express this reflection in the immediacy of a photograph.
We are satisfied with the interest aroused by the contest and the wide participation also at international level: in less than a month, from the opening of the contest to its closing, 22 photographers, both amateurs and professionals, have submitted a total of 90 photographs.
The great expressive and aesthetic value of the images made the work of the jury difficult, which, after careful evaluation, selected 7 winning images and other photographs that will be part of a calendar, produced in both Italian and English: for each month a photo and a short text on decent and inclusive work. The calendar will also mark 2025 with significant anniversaries and events in the history of work, rights and social justice and each of these important days will be associated with a selected image.
«The stories through images received – he states Fiorella Prodi, President of Nexus Emilia Romagna – have opened a window on the theme of decent and inclusive work, a reflection that deserves to be spread and shared. Through this calendar, sent to each participant and distributed at various national and international locations, we hope that it can reach and inspire contexts related to social issues and, in particular, to the world of work».
The selected images will be announced shortly to be part of the calendar and the 7 photos that won the contest. The winners will be officially awarded in December. The selected photos will then be visible on our social media thanks to the upcoming column dedicated to the contest and its participants.
